Assk.ai
FAQ

Questions, answered

Can't find yours? Ask the assistant on our homepage.

Will it make things up?

No. Assk.ai only answers from your published content. If the answer isn't there, it says so and offers to take the visitor's details for your team.

Do I need a developer to install it?

No. You paste one script tag into your site once. Everything after that happens in the dashboard.

What happens when I update my website?

Assk.ai re-reads your site on a schedule, weekly by default, and picks up your changes. You can also start a re-crawl yourself at any time.

Can it answer from documents that aren't on my website?

Yes. Upload price lists, menus, policies or brochures as PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, HTML or text files, up to 4 MB each, in the Documents tab of your dashboard. The assistant answers from them alongside your pages and names the file it used. Documents count towards your plan's pages, together with your website (see How are pages counted?). Anything you upload can be quoted to visitors, so only add files you'd be happy to publish.

How are pages counted?

Each plan includes a number of pages your assistant knows: 500 on Starter (and the free trial), 2,000 on Growth, 5,000 on Scale, and custom on Enterprise. Every page read from your website counts as one page. An uploaded document counts by its length, about one page for every 3,000 characters of text (roughly a printed page), and at least one page; one document can be up to 130 pages. The pages are one allowance shared by your website and documents, across all your websites. Your website is read first, so its weekly re-read never loses out to documents; when the pages are used up, new documents are refused with a note saying how big the file is and how much room is left. If you go over, nothing is deleted and your assistant keeps answering; you just can't add documents until you're under. The dashboard shows, for example, "1,320 of 2,000 pages used — website 1,020, documents 300".

Can I use Assk.ai on more than one website?

Yes. Starter includes 1 website, Growth 3, Scale 10, and Enterprise as many as you need. Each website gets its own assistant, pages and install code, and you switch between them in the dashboard. Other addresses of the same website, like www or a staging copy, are added under Install and don't count as extra websites. Your plan's conversations each month and pages are shared across all your websites. Moving to a plan with fewer websites never deletes anything: your websites keep answering, and you can add another once you're within the plan.

How fast does it learn my site?

Enter your address on the homepage and Assk.ai reads your homepage in about ten seconds: it tells you what it learned about your business and you can chat with it straight away. Create a free account and it reads the rest of your site, up to 500 pages (website and documents together) on the free trial, usually within a few minutes.

Can it learn from Google Sheets, PDFs or Google Drive?

PDFs, yes: upload PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, HTML, text or Markdown files, up to 4 MB each, in the Documents tab of your dashboard, and the assistant answers from them alongside your website. A Google Sheet can be exported to Excel or CSV and uploaded. Linking Google Sheets, Google Drive or Microsoft 365 directly, so changes are picked up on their own, is on the roadmap.

Does it speak other languages?

Yes. Visitors can write in their own language, and the assistant replies in the language they used, from your pages, even when your website is only in English. Its links still point to your own pages.

Does it connect to my CRM?

Leads can be sent to any CRM or tool that accepts a webhook. Native connectors for specific CRMs are planned for a later release.

Can visitors talk to it by voice?

Voice conversations are coming soon. At launch, visitors chat by text.

Which AI model does it use?

Answers are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, using only passages retrieved from your website.

What happens if we run out of conversations?

The widget keeps loading and keeps taking visitors' names and emails. Only the AI answers pause until the next month or until you upgrade.

Where does the name Assk.ai come from?

From ask, and it's said just like it: "ask". Visitors ask, and your website answers like you would, from your own pages and documents.

Who makes Assk.ai?

Assk.ai is a product of Assk LLC.
