Assk.ai
How it works

From a domain to a live assistant

Assk.ai turns the content you already publish into an assistant that answers visitors' questions. Here is what happens at each step.

1. Add your domain

Enter your website address. Assk.ai crawls the site, rendering pages the way a browser does, honouring robots.txt and staying on your domain. It skips login, cart, checkout and account pages.

It strips navigation menus, footers and cookie banners, keeps headings, lists and tables, and splits each page into sections it can search. You can watch its progress, stop it at any time, and review every page it read.

Before the first full read, you can review the pages Assk.ai found and choose which to include. Leave out old promotions, job posts or anything you'd rather it didn't learn, and it never reads them.

Then add what isn't on your site. Upload price lists, menus, policies or brochures as PDF, Word, Excel, CSV or text files, and the assistant answers from them too, naming the file it used.

2. Shape your assistant

Choose the assistant's name, greeting and colour, and set its tone: friendly, professional, concise, caring, upbeat or expert. Assk.ai suggests a tone from your own website, and you can change it any time. Choose short, standard or detailed answers, and add a few notes in your own words, like "always mention our free parking", that it follows in every answer. Add up to four suggested questions visitors can tap. Choose where leads are sent: an email address, a CRM webhook, or both.

3. Install with one line

Paste a single script tag into your site, just before the closing body tag. It loads in the background and adds about 6 KB. Every change after that is made in the dashboard, with no further edits to your website.

Show it as a floating button in the corner of every page, place the chat box inside a page, such as your contact or help page, or use both.

4. Answering visitors

When a visitor asks a question, Assk.ai finds the passages of your site that match it and has Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, write a short answer from those passages only. Each answer links to the pages it used.

If nothing on your site answers the question, the assistant says the website doesn't say and offers to take the visitor's name and email for your team. It never guesses at prices, policies or contact details.

Visitors can write in their own language. The assistant answers in the language they used, from your pages, even when your site is in English.

When a visitor asks to talk to someone, the assistant tells them whether your team is in now or when it's back, based on the business hours you set, and offers a short form. You get an email marked as a request for a person, with the whole conversation, and replying goes straight to the visitor.

5. Staying current

Assk.ai re-reads your site on a schedule, weekly by default, and only re-processes pages whose content changed. You can start a re-crawl yourself at any time. Pages removed from your site are removed from the assistant's knowledge after the next full crawl.

6. Reviewing and improving

Your dashboard shows every conversation with the sources each answer used, the leads captured with the questions that prompted them, and a ranked list of questions your content couldn't answer. Write a short answer right there, publish it on your site, or upload a document that covers it, and the assistant answers it from then on. Each week the list gets shorter.

Every Monday you get a short email: last week's conversations, how many were answered, the leads, and the top questions your site couldn't answer yet. You can turn it off from the dashboard.

See it answer from your own website.
